Hunting
Here are some hunt plans if you want to come and join in.
Muzzleloader Deer: Starts Wednesday, September 24th. David will be hunting this on Cedar Mt. in order to get a feel for the area and because he can use his Anterless Elk Tag during this hunt. Will probably hunt on Wednesday, Thursday morning, and the next Monday.
Rifle Elk (Anterless and Bull): Starts Saturday, October 4th. David and Davey will be hunting this on Saturday and then the next Monday night and possibly Friday and Saturday the 10th and 11th.
The whole family is going up on Wednesday the 15th after school and hunting through the weekend.

Tropic
Mom and I left Thursday afternoon on a 4 wheelin jaunt up by Tropic Reservoir. We arrived about 5 pm and helped get dinner ready. We had soup, salad, special breads, and cake for dessert. Mom made clam chowder that was really good. We also had a goulash and chili. Mom bought some expensive bread over to Harmons. It was garlic and cheese, and green onion and cheese. After dinner we sat around a campfire and visited.
It got quite cold during the night, but because our batteries are about shot, we didn't turn the heat on until about 6:30 am. Now, that's really roughing it. I got up at 3:30 to use the bathroom and couldn't go back to sleep. It was a long night.
We left camp and trailered down to a canyon south of Cannonville. It is part of the Grand Staircase National Monument. We drove down a creek bed for about 15 miles and then came back in the Paria Wash. We saw some absolutely beautiful sights. The rock formations were wonderful. We went into a couple of slot canyons. One was so narrow that we had to park the wheelers and walk through it. It was fun.
We always carry our lunch and eat on the trail. We found a lovely shady area. I bought a little table and chairs that we carry on our wheeler. Again, we really rough it. The first time we went out, we ate on the ground and had a hard time getting up. I had to pull Mom up. So, we bought the folding canvas table and chairs.
We got back to camp about 4 pm and got the coals on and cooked some steaks to go with salads and pie for dessert. After dinner we played "nines." It was fun. They play by different rules. I like them.
I woke up again at 3:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. I finally got up at 4:20 and read the scriptures and then went for a walk. It was a beautiful starry and moon filled sky. I really enjoyed the walk.
We went on the west of camp for our ride. We have been on it before, but it was still beautiful. The rocks are like in Bryce Canyon and the Aspens were turning and were beautiful. When we stopped for lunch, there were black clouds on the horizon. Just as we were finishing it started to rain. We got on our rain gear and continued on. When we got back to the main road, they were going to go south. I told them we had had it and were going back. We went back to camp, loaded up and came home. We were glad to be home a little early in order to get everything cleaned up and put away.

What's your favorite...
TV Shows? Right now I like watching "America's Got Talent". Megs and I watch it together. I like Eli and she likes the violin-playing-guys. Oh yeah, they are called Nothing but Strings, I think. I also like "The Closer" and of course, "Seinfeld" re-runs - they always make me laugh.
Grandma Tobler's
So I used to work at Tj Maxx... bleah. I hated it. So I set out on a quest to find myself another part time job. I looked for weeks! All that time I was still stuck at Tj Maxx. Then one morning on my way to work I decided to stop at Grandma Tobler's Kitchen and Bakery. It's just right down the street, a 3 minute walk. Well... Lark Taylor, the owner, hired me on the spot. I got to quit my job that day \(-^.^-)/
Now I walk to work and I'm paid even more than what I was getting. My hours are perfect and I love my job! My favorite thing is to see customers come in and take that first whiff of the bakery air. All the customers love me since I give them cookies and cinnamon rolls and whatever else their taste buds desire. I especially love the customers who come in for the first time. I call them Grandma Tobler virgins, but I haven't told anyone that. They are all over the tiny room and pastry display. They want to try everything! It's so funny to see them darting all over.
I also get a treat a day everytime I work... that my friends is a very dangerous benefit.

Come to Swiss Days!
Next weekend is Swiss Days in Santa Clara - Friday, September 26th & 27th.
On Friday, from 2:30 to 6:30 pm there are pioneer activities and crafts at Heritage Square (right by my house).
There is a free concert (Eric Dodge) & dinner ($6.00 - $9.00) that night at the Town Hall.
Saturday is the Parade at 9:30 am. It used to go right in front of Mom & Dad's house on the heights, remember? But since they moved, the city decided to move the parade so it will still go right in front of their house! (hahaha)
The booths and activites are at the Town Hall from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday. I think parking will be a mess, so you can park at my house or Mom & Dad's and there is a shuttle that will take you to the Town Hall. Or you could walk.

Tuacahn
I still have some tickets for the shows at Tuacahn. Please call or email if you want to go. Les Mis is Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. If you haven't seen it, you MUST! Big River is Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Big River is the story of Huckleberry Finn, and the music is fantastic! The shows start at 8pm and last about 3 hours.
Mom and Dad, Dennis and Marilyn and their kids, and Uncle Bob and Aunt Roberta will be going to Les Mis on Thursday, October 2nd, if anyone wants to go with that group.
